Linda stirred, and opened up her eyes. Adjusting to the sudden rush of light, she pushed herself forward. She started to lift up her arm.

“Aahh!” she groaned.

She tried moving again, doing her best to rid her arm of the stinging sensation of pins and needles. She ignored the feeling for a moment when felt something warm place itself on her other hand. Shuddering, Linda pulled her coat closer to her body and rubbed her hands together as she made her way up the street towards her house. After what had seemed like forever, her shift had finally come to an end. It hadn’t been a relatively good one either. Linda had had to deal with quite a few nasty customers tonight, and on top of that, had the constant worry of being held up again on her mind. Ever since the store had been held up, she had an unrelenting fear that it would happen again. She guessed she was just being paranoid, but she couldn’t help it. After all, being held up was the last thing one would expect to happen to them.

All of our computers have cool glowy screens like this one. Our base is so cold that it needs to be kept in a fridge...
